Overall impressions: another nice group of Aussie wines, several of which were to positively drool for. The ADW Hattrick was just flat-out beautiful, and didn't come up short in any regard. Probably the best showing was the Charles Melton line. With 3 wines in my top 10, they just have to be King -- or at least Pope. Other standouts include the E & E Black Pepper, the Noon Eclipse, and the Eileen Hardy. Award for the most fascinating nose goes to the Rusden. It bore some similarity to the fascinating notes of grilled beef and sauces in Ch. Tertre Roteboeuf. A real surprise and great bargain is the Rosemount Hill of Gold. At $14, it's a solid and delicious effort. Really, about the only disappointment in the flight was the Pikes Merlot. The nose was very nice, but the mouthfeel just fell flat by comparison. ___________________
