The 2nd annual Pinot Days was held in San Francisco's Fort Mason Event Center, June 23-24. Organizers Steve and Lisa Rigisich and Eric and Teri White continue to tweak this event, making it one of the must-attend Pinot Noir festivals during the year. Plans for next year include the annual event here in San Francisco, as well as one in New York and another in Seattle.

The festivities began on Saturday with a series of sit-down blind tastings. This involved a tasting of sixteen of the best producers from the Russian River and Sonoma Coast appellations, giving us the opportunity to study them side-by-side, and was followed by a look at the wines of Pisoni, Garys' and Rosella's vineyards. After the wines were unmasked, the winemakers were asked to say a few words about the wine's production. Sunday consisted of smaller regional or vineyard-specific tastings, followed by the centerpeice of the day, the Grand Tasting, with wines from 140 Pinot producers from California, Oregon, New Zealand
